About Bethany

I’m Bethany…I grew up in Alabama and met my husband, Paolo, while studying abroad in Switzerland. We married in Italy and lived there for most of our first decade of marriage. During my years in Italy, I taught children in a bi-lingual school. Paolo and I have three children. I am currently earning a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Richmont Graduate University. I am passionate about helping people discover hope in the difficult seasons of life. I spent many years feeling alone and believe that “together” is the best way to walk through suffering.

I want clients to feel a sense of belonging in the therapy room and know that we can work through whatever they are experiencing. All feelings are allowed. My desire is for people to feel more connection in their relationships and live with purpose. My approach is one of gentleness and honesty. I see relationships through a trauma-informed, attachment lens. I believe that we can be re-parented and experience secure attachment despite what we have been through earlier in life.

In my free time, I love to be with my family and friends. I especially enjoy nature walks and watching movies. And coffee shops are one of my favorite places on earth! I am excited to be an intern at Hopeology and look forward to walking with you on your healing journey.
