Founder + Senior Clinician

Hi, I'm Terah and I am so glad you’re here
I grew up in South Carolina and lived in Louisiana for graduate school. While in New Orleans, I met and married my husband, Jason. We are a foster and adoptive family and have ten children. I earned a Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2012. I am an LPC and a CPCS in Georgia, which allows me to care for clients and counselors in training. My clients love my heart for authentic community and my straightforward style of communication. I am trained in EMDR and enjoy working with couples through a trauma lens, as well as individuals who have a trauma history. I recently received training to reset the immune system through EMDR. I count it a privilege for people to share their stories with me and consider it one of my greatest joys to see beauty rise from places that often feel desolate and hopeless.
When I'm not working, I love spending time with my tiny army of humans, running + reading, Mexican food, and Clemson football.

About Ashley
We are created to flourish, but so many of us feel far from flourishing. We have experienced harm, pain, trauma, and wounding that leave us with a knowing that things are not as they should be. I do believe, however, that healing and flourishing are possible, and that you are meant to experience them.
Because we are made up of multiple parts, I believe that using a blend of modalities, a holistic multidisciplinary approach, is most helpful in bringing integration back to our beings. Harm, wounds, and trauma cause division and fragmentation between our body, soul, and spirit, and each part of us needs care. I work primarily through a narrative focused trauma care lens, being informed by relational psychoanalysis, attachment theory, somatic and body centered care, multicultural awareness, and mindfulness.
A little bit about me – I am originally from North Carolina but moved to Atlanta in 2017 with my husband. Since I was a little girl, I knew that I wanted to be a therapist. I love stories, whether it is the person in front of me, a good movie or novel. I believe stories are an integral part of our lives. I love my dog, Copper. I am passionate about overall bodily health and enjoy moving, cooking with ingredients from my garden, and discovering the best rhythms for my life.
We are harmed through relationships, but we are also healed through relationships. It would be an honor to witness your story and to labor together as we move towards the hope of healing.

About Amy
We are wired for relationship with ourselves, God, and others, but there are all kinds of things that can keep those relationships from thriving. My goal through the counseling process is to help you find restoration and flourishing in these relationships. My role as a therapist is to come alongside you, wherever you are, and walk with you. I will meet you there and help you, hear you, challenge you, grieve with you, and celebrate with you. I seek to create a safe and inviting environment for you to process struggles and heal from wounds so that you are able to grow into the flourishing you were always meant to experience.
A little bit about me… I am a Georgia native and have grown to love living in Atlanta more than I ever thought I could. When I am not in the counselor’s chair, I can often be found with a cup of coffee and a good book, cooking up a new recipe, or spending time in community with loved ones.
Though we are harmed through relationship, I believe we also heal through relationship. I look forward to being on the journey with you as you find healing and freedom.

About Valorie
I grew up in central Florida and played Division I college soccer while earning my undergraduate degree. After a decade of playing and coaching soccer professionally, I began pursuing a Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I have undergone training in Narrative Focused Trauma Care through the Allender Center and I am passionate about coming alongside others experiencing pain, harm, and the effects of trauma. I believe holistic, multidimensional care—relational, emotional, somatic, and spiritual—moves us towards the wholeness we were meant for.
When I am not working or studying, I enjoy rollerblading, playing pick-up soccer, and resting in cozy spaces. I love learning new dance routines and dreaming about the dogs I plan to adopt one day.
As we all navigate the heartache of living outside of Eden, it would be an honor to join you on your journey towards experiencing hope, beauty, and goodness.

About Bethany
I’m Bethany…I grew up in Alabama and met my husband, Paolo, while studying abroad in Switzerland. We married in Italy and lived there for most of our first decade of marriage. During my years in Italy, I taught children in a bi-lingual school. Paolo and I have three children. I am currently earning a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Richmont Graduate University. I am passionate about helping people discover hope in the difficult seasons of life. I spent many years feeling alone and believe that “together” is the best way to walk through suffering.
I want clients to feel a sense of belonging in the therapy room and know that we can work through whatever they are experiencing. All feelings are allowed. My desire is for people to feel more connection in their relationships and live with purpose. My approach is one of gentleness and honesty. I see relationships through a trauma-informed, attachment lens. I believe that we can be re-parented and experience secure attachment despite what we have been through earlier in life.
In my free time, I love to be with my family and friends. I especially enjoy nature walks and watching movies. And coffee shops are one of my favorite places on earth! I am excited to be an intern at Hopeology and look forward to walking with you on your healing journey.
